New collaboration of Twentytú Hostel: the creativity of the Fundació Sant Tomàs team reflected in works of art about Barcelona and sustainability

At Twentytú Hostel, as the first Hostel in the world to obtain the Biosphere Responsible Tourism certification, we work year after year to carry out sustainable actions to get involved in the commitment to the environment and in the social field. One of our main objectives is to collaborate with third sector entities, thus, at the same time, we manage to generate social aid.

Our latest collaboration initiative has been with Fundació Sant Tomàs, a non-profit social initiative organization in Osona that works so that people with intellectual disabilities or developmental difficulties can improve their quality of life and have the same opportunities as the rest of society.

Fundació Sant Tomàs serves people of all ages: training and job placement, family support, housing services, residential care, special education schools and leisure and sports services.

In the field of art and design, Fundació Sant Tomàs has the art and design studio Autèntic.cat, where the artistic talent of people is promoted, leaving aside disability so that only their creativity is valued. They work with clear concepts, simple graphics, good ideas and creative solutions for all kinds of projects for different entities, companies, municipalities and individuals. They make from decorations to merchandising, posters and packaging.

The new artistic decoration of Autèntic.cat

That is why we have counted on the art and creativity of the Autèntic.cat team for the design of the decoration of our outdoor parking. With the theme of sustainability and the city of Barcelona, the young artists of Autèntic.cat have made a work of art that has undoubtedly left its mark on Twentytú Hostel.

Under the supervision of the responsible Anna Freixas, the people of the Fundació Sant Tomàs have shown that they are very talented and have a very original and creative potential, after having spent hours and hours designing our murals. Now their works of art, 2.40m long and 1.20m high, decorate our parking lot, showing the most emblematic places of Barcelona such as the Sagrada Familia, La Pedrera, Park Güell, Glòries Tower, Arc de Triomf, Columbus Monument, the W Hotel, and the famous Barcelona city tile “El panot de Barcelona”. In addition, as Hostel is committed to the environment, they have also been inspired by elements of nature such as the sea, the sun, trees, fish, seagulls and healthy life on a bicycle.

If you have not yet seen the art that the Autèntic.cat team gives off, we invite you to stop by Twentytú Hostel to contemplate the effort, dedication and talent of these people with diverse abilities.

In 2022 we had already hosted a group of the same Fundació Sant Tomàs, who came to Barcelona to spend a few days of coexistence and to carry out different learning and fun activities. During their stay, they enjoyed their vacations and Twentytú Hostel became their home. We hope to welcome them again soon and enjoy more experiences and collaborations together.
