In Catalonia there’re many routes for cycling tourism lovers, we propose 5 routes for cycling around Catalonia:
Route of the Carrilet; from Girona to Sant Feliu de Guíxols almost 40km in which you will know the old town of the city of Girona and enjoy the rural landscape of fields of the different municipalities of the Baix Empordá. Easy difficulty as it’s a flat route without technical difficulty.
Costa Daurada Route: from Tarragona to Cambrils, 44 kilometers, passing through Salou. A route to know the promenade of the beaches of Tarragona and different municipalities of the Costa Daurada.
Route through the Montseny: a natural environment to breathe fresh air and green landscapes. The Montseny Natural Park, near Barcelona and there’re many routes. We suggest one of 15 kilometers, passing through the Turó de l’Home. Spring, autumn or summer are the best seasons of the year to visit the area.
Route from the the Pyrenees to the sea: This is a cycling tour that runs between the Pyrenean lands of Ripollès and La Garrotxa to the Empordà plain in 6 stages. With a total of 260 kilometers, it’s an ideal route for lovers of pedaling through Ripoll, Olot, Girona, Platja d’Aro, Pals, Torroella de Montgrí and Figueras.
Route Montblanc to the Ebro: A total of 290km, consisting of 6 stages with an elevation gain of 3100m. This route through the south of Catalonia, from Montblanc to the Delta del Ebro. It’s a route for well trained people, perfect to contemplate the great scenic and cultural attraction.
Carretera de les aigües: This route is one of the most frequented by cyclists, runners, and walkers in the Natural Park of Collserola as it’s a perfect option to enjoy the magnificent views of the city. The route has a distance of about 10km and is very flat, ideal to do with children and family, or to enjoy with your group of friends.
Sea promenade: If you want to take advantage of the good weather in the city, pedaling along the promenade of Barcelona will be a good option. Taking advantage of the bike lanes of the Moll de la Fusta until you reach the Barceloneta. Continuing towards the Vila Olímpica and continuing to the Fòrum area, a total of 7km very easy as the entire route is flat.
Emblematic route of Barcelona: From TwentyTú we propose this tour. Starting at the Hostel until you reach the Ciutadella Park and the Arc de Triomph. A little more than 1km away you will find the old Monumental bullring. Then the Hospital de Sant Pau, a modernist building 1km from the Sagrada Familia, the most emblematic monument of the city. At 1.5km is the Casa de les Punxes, near the Paseo de Gracia to see the facades of some of the most famous modernist houses, such as Casa Amatller, Casa Batllo or La Pedrera and going down to Plaza Catalunya visiting the Cathedral of Barcelona, next to the Plaza Real and Las Ramblas. To finish, passing by Plaza España and then Columbus Monument to start the route along the beach of Barcelona until you reach the TwentyTú Hostel. A 23km route that we propose from TwentyTú.
Ronda Verda: The Ronda Verda is a circular circuit that can be enjoyed independently, without the need to complete because it’s 72km in total. It’s possible to start from any point of the route, in both directions.
This route consists of 6 sections: Montjuic, Llobregat, Parc de Collserola, Besòs River Park, Serra de Marina Park, and Maritime Front.
Route along the Besòs River: If you feel good pedaling near the river, the route along the Besòs River runs along the river park of about 9 km, start from Montcada i Reixac to Sant Adrià del Besòs, being an area for walking, skating, bike lane, etc.. The path through the park is flat and paved, with a leisure itinerary that is often very busy at rush hour.
