Barcelona, an ideal city for cycling. The sea, the good weather and its views, make the Catalan capital a city full of routes for cycling and more and more tourists are joining to know the city pedaling. Within the city itself there’re several lanes and routes equipped for lovers of pedaling, either to move around the city or to do sport in their free time.

Cycle touring is a non-competitive sport that consists of sightseeing using the bicycle as a means of transportation. It’s a recreational activity that mixes sport, cycling and tourism.

In Twentytú Hostel we’re updating the events of Cicloturisme in Catalunya and we offer information of cycling routes in Barcelona and Catalunya. Below, we propose different cycling routes, options for all ages and levels of difficulty:

Bicycle routes in Barcelona:

Carretera de les aigües: This route is one of the most frequented by cyclists, runners, and walkers in the Natural Park of Collserola as it’s a perfect option to enjoy the magnificent views of the city. The route has a distance of about 10km and is very flat, ideal to do with children and family, or to enjoy with your group of friends.

Sea promenade: If you want to take advantage of the good weather in the city, pedaling along the promenade of Barcelona will be a good option. Taking advantage of the bike lanes of the Moll de la Fusta until you reach the Barceloneta. Continuing towards the Vila Olímpica and continuing to the Fòrum area, a total of 7km very easy as the entire route is flat.

Emblematic route of Barcelona: From TwentyTú we propose this tour. Starting at the Hostel until you reach the Ciutadella Park and the Arc de Triomph. A little more than 1km away you will find the old Monumental bullring. Then the Hospital de Sant Pau, a modernist building 1km from the Sagrada Familia, the most emblematic monument of the city. At 1.5km is the Casa de les Punxes, near the Paseo de Gracia to see the facades of some of the most famous modernist houses, such as Casa Amatller, Casa Batllo or La Pedrera and going down to Plaza Catalunya visiting the Cathedral of Barcelona, next to the Plaza Real and Las Ramblas. To finish, passing by Plaza España and then Columbus Monument to start the route along the beach of Barcelona until you reach the TwentyTú Hostel. A 23km route that we propose from TwentyTú.

Ronda Verda: The Ronda Verda is a circular circuit that can be enjoyed independently, without the need to complete because it’s 72km in total. It’s possible to start from any point of the route, in both directions.
This route consists of 6 sections: Montjuic, Llobregat, Parc de Collserola, Besòs River Park, Serra de Marina Park, and Maritime Front.

Route along the Besòs River: If you feel good pedaling near the river, the route along the Besòs River runs along the river park of about 9 km, start from Montcada i Reixac to Sant Adrià del Besòs, being an area for walking, skating, bike lane, etc..
